Taiwan Axis Asia Access

People

You work with the principals.

Taiwan Axis is a boutique. The people who scope your work are the people who do it — in the room, in the market, in the language.

Lawrence Kuok

Managing Partner

Market entry · Commercial strategy · Partnerships · Cross-border execution

Lawrence advises companies entering, operating and growing in Taiwan and across Asia. His work sits at the intersection of market strategy, commercial execution, technology and partnerships.

His background spans enterprise technology, cloud and AI, consumer and sports businesses, and cross-border business development across the United States, Greater China and Asia-Pacific. That range matters here, because a Taiwan market-entry question rarely stays a strategy question for long — it becomes a distributor negotiation, a certification calendar, a system that has to be built, or a partnership that has to hold for years.

At Taiwan Axis he works directly with clients on market-entry strategy, distribution, partnerships, commercial systems and complex projects where the challenge is not simply understanding Taiwan, but getting something done in Taiwan.

Hana Birtley

Chief Commercial Officer

Commercial development · Client engagement · Partner engagement · Execution

Hana leads commercial development and client engagement at Taiwan Axis, working with companies as they evaluate opportunities, develop partnerships and turn market-entry plans into commercial relationships.

Her role spans business development, partner engagement, commercial structuring and the coordination required to move a project from initial market assessment into execution — the stretch where most entries lose momentum, and where progress depends less on further analysis than on keeping the right people moving in the same direction.

At Taiwan Axis her focus is connecting strategy to the people, partnerships and commercial actions required to make it work.

How we staff an engagement.

  1. A principal runs your work. You are not handed to a delivery team after the pitch, because there is no delivery team to be handed to.
  2. We bring in specialists by name. Where an engagement needs a former distributor, a category buyer or a plant manager, they are named to you before they are involved — and they are paid by us, not by the partners they introduce.
  3. We stay through execution. Most of our work continues past the recommendation into the part where something has to be built, signed or shipped.

An entry mode to choose. A distributor to qualify. A certification that is holding up a launch. We reply within two working days with a candid view.
